Works Director / Owner
Lee started in the roofing industry at the age of 16, working alongside his brother Shaun and his father Brian O’Mara, working primarily with Mastic Asphalt. Lee gained skills in the traditional ways of applying Mastic Asphalt and gained certification from IKO (Permanite as it was known) for both Ultra PrevENt Reinforced Bitumens and Permaphalt Polymer Modified Mastic Asphalt.
Lee completed training in single ply systems with certification from Sika Sarnafil and Bauder Built up Felt systems. Working as site supervisor for many years and training new members of staff, Lee moved into a management role. When his father, Brian O’Mara retired, Lee’s role became more prominent in the office helping his brother Shaun to manage the business.
Lee has completed the course and holds valid Certification for SMSTS and various other Health & Safety courses that are relevant to the roofing industry, including ‘Working at Heights’, ‘Asbestos Awareness’ and First Aid.
Now working entirely in a management role, Lee carries out surveys for roof works both prior, during and post works. He provides quotations and liaises with clients and site supervisors in both managing the projects and staff, including completing risk assessments and method statements, whilst maintaining high levels of health and safety awareness. He also advises on suitable products and systems and oversees works carried out by our skilled operatives.
